artist bio

Elizabeth Kunath goes by Bessie. She
comes from Orange County, California.
She made a move to San Francisco in
1999 to attend the University of San Francisco and the California College
of the Arts. She received a dual
Bachelor’s Degree in visual art and
education and went on to receive a
Master’s in Education from USF.
Bessie's sculptures and drawings deal
with formal concepts in her material
choice. She uses mostly found or
unconventional art materials. Her graphic imagery is also largely from
found photos, magazines and film
footage and is usually layered in a
self-referential style.
